Definition:
Precision-cut rubber or polyurethane blades used in scrubber dryers and sweepers to remove slurry and leave floors clean and dry.
Use cases:
Commercial, industrial, logistics, food processing, workshops, retail and public facilities.
Material mapping:
NR/Para Rubber → smooth floors
PU → oily/abrasive environments
NBR → heavy chemical/oil exposure
Compatibility:
Walk-behind, ride-on and compact scrubber dryers; wet vacuums; industrial sweepers; OEM platforms.
Selection principle:
Match material → floor type → operating conditions/soil level → required service life.
Performance factors:
Blade geometry, thickness, Shore hardness and mounting accuracy directly affect water pick-up and drying quality.
There is a wide range of squeegee blades, suction lips, splash guards, side skirts and dust seals used in scrubber dryers, sweepers and other professional cleaning machines. These components are typically designed for specific machine models, with variations in geometry, length, thickness and material depending on application requirements.
Even within the same machine platform, multiple blade options may be available to suit different floor types, soil conditions and cleaning chemicals. Selecting the correct configuration is essential for consistent water pick-up, controlled drying performance and predictable service life.
Correct blade specification ensures not only immediate water pick-up performance, but also predictable wear and replacement intervals. This reduces unplanned downtime and supports consistent cleaning results across the machine’s service life.
Cleanpart supplies a comprehensive and continuously expanding range of squeegee blades and sealing components for most machine brands and models on the European market. Explore our full range of squeegee blades and splash guards for professional cleaning machines.
All blades are produced in our own facility in Getinge, Sweden, using carefully selected materials and controlled Shore hardness levels to ensure dimensional accuracy, consistent quality and short lead times. Our range includes squeegee blades manufactured in Natural / Para Rubber (NR/PA), Polyurethane (PU) and Nitrile Rubber (NBR), each optimised for specific operating environments.
If you require guidance, Cleanpart’s specialists can assist in identifying the optimal blade solution for your machine and cleaning environment.
Even when the correct material is selected, blade geometry and mounting accuracy must match the original machine configuration. Small deviations in profile, hole placement or stiffness can significantly affect water pick-up and drying performance. Cleanpart verifies geometry against original components or measured assemblies prior to production.
Cleanpart supplies OEM-compatible squeegee blades verified against original specifications or measured assemblies. This ensures correct fit and performance without locking customers to a single machine supplier.

Natural rubber is a material derived from the latex sap of the Para rubber tree. Natural rubber (NR), also known as Para rubber (PA), is a popular choice for splash guards, suction blades, and squeegee lips used in cleaning and scrubbing machines. The material offers excellent elasticity, high tensile strength, resistance to cold (down to -40 °C), and outstanding abrasion resistance. These properties make it highly suitable for use in floor cleaning machine squeegees.
Squeegee blades, suction lips, and splash guards made from natural rubber (NR) or Para rubber (PA) generally perform very well. However, natural rubber is not suitable for all environments — for example, in workshops, industrial facilities, or restaurants where petroleum products, chemicals, or grease are present on the floor. In such conditions, we recommend using polyurethane (PU) or nitrile rubber (NBR) squeegee blades and splash guards instead.
The most common colors for squeegee blades, suction lips, and splash guards for cleaning and scrubbing machines have long been red, grey, and beige. Apart from possible variations in Shore hardness, the primary difference between these variants is colour.

Polyurethane (PU) is a synthetic rubber known for its excellent oil and chemical resistance. The material provides exceptional wear resistance, tear strength, and mechanical durability, and is also UV- and ozone-resistant, making it suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor cleaning applications.
Polyurethane has long been a preferred material for squeegee blades, splash guards, and suction lips used in cleaning and scrubbing machines. Thanks to its high chemical resistance, UV stability, and long service life, PU is the ideal choice for machines operating in environments where petroleum products, chemicals, or solvents may be present.
Polyurethane squeegee blades are also available in a ribbed (grooved) design (see examples below). The grooves increase flexibility and allow the same material to function as both front and rear blades:
When the grooves face the direction of travel, the blade lets cleaning solution pass underneath and functions as a front blade.
When the smooth side faces the direction of travel, the blade works as a rear blade, collecting and removing water.
Ribbed PU is available in several colors, including red, yellow, green, natural, and brown, and is particularly effective in wet vacuum cleaners, as the nozzle performs equally well in both directions.
Polyurethane blades and suction lips are also available as extruded profiles, meaning the blade has a predefined height, thickness, and surface geometry. The raised longitudinal lines affect the blade’s flexibility and also help with alignment and installation in the squeegee assembly.
Extruded PU blades are most commonly used as front blades, especially in machines from brands such as Comac, Fimap, Fiorentini, and Adiatek.
Polyurethane (PU) is available in a wide range of colors and Shore hardness levels. The most common colors are natural (transparent), blue, and green, though other colors such as yellow, red, and orange are also widely used.

Squeegee blades wipe slurry from the floor while suction airflow draws the water through the hose into the recovery tank. Correct blade geometry and proper sealing are essential for efficient water pick-up and streak-free drying.
If your machine still uses the original squeegee assembly, the machine brand and model are usually sufficient. In some cases, a part number is printed directly on the blade. All Cleanpart squeegee blades and splash guards are marked with an article number for easy identification.
If the squeegee assembly differs from the original specification, accurate measurements are required. Remove the blade and measure overall length, height, thickness, mounting hole pattern and any special cut-outs. With this information, Cleanpart can reliably identify or manufacture the correct replacement blade for your specific machine and application.
