COBRA Floor Pads for Chemical-Free Floor Care

A Smooth, Uniform Finish

Developed by Clean Part

COBRA floor pads are developed and produced by Clean Part AB to provide a high-performance, chemical-free solution for professional floor maintenance. The series was designed as a more cost-efficient alternative to diamond pads while delivering comparable cleaning and renovation results. Like diamond systems, COBRA pads require no chemicals or detergents—only mechanical abrasion—to achieve a clean, uniform surface.

For maximum operational flexibility, the pads can be used both dry and with water, depending on machine type, floor material and the required level of cleaning. This makes COBRA a practical and versatile choice for contractors, service workshops and facility managers who need reliable performance across a wide range of hard-floor applications.

Explore Our Range of Cobra Pads

Achieving a Consistent Floor Finish

COBRA floor pads are engineered specifically for cleaning, refining and maintaining hard floors where a matte, non-reflective appearance is required. The pads provide controlled abrasion that removes surface irregularities without generating unwanted gloss, making them an ideal choice for facilities where a natural, satin-matte finish is preferred over high-shine polishing.

By delivering uniform material removal and stable surface refinement, COBRA offers a reliable and efficient solution for industrial, commercial and public environments that prioritise low reflectance, slip resistance and a clean, modern visual expression.

Consistent Performance Throughout the Pad

The coloured coded abrasive surface of the COBRA pad is constructed with an open nonwoven structure that minimises clogging and maintains a steady cutting action during use. This improves efficiency both on the floor surface and in overall operation, especially during larger renovation or maintenance tasks.

To ensure a uniform matte finish, the abrasive layer is fully impregnated with precisely graded minerals. The combination of the mineral system and the fine nonwoven fibre matrix generates the pad’s balanced cleaning and polishing effect—removing soil, coatings and micro-scratches while leaving the surface smooth and consistent.

Customisable to Meet Operational Requirements

Because COBRA pads are developed and manufactured in our own facility, we offer extensive customisation options to meet specific operational or OEM requirements. Dimensions, pad shape, centre-hole configurations, water-channel patterns and backing thickness can all be adapted as needed. This flexibility ensures that COBRA pads can be supplied in customised formats suitable for a wide range of machines, applications and performance specifications.

Four Steps to a Perfect Finish

The COBRA pad system is available in four clearly defined grit levels—120 (brown), 320 (purple), 800 (grey) and 1000 (yellow). Each step is colour-coded to ensure quick identification and to simplify handling during renovation and maintenance work.

For surface renovation, the 120 and 320 grit pads are typically used first, especially when addressing wear, scratches or damaged coatings. These steps remove the existing surface layer and prepare the floor for refinement. The finer stages, 800 and 1000 grit, follow to create a smooth and uniform matte finish.

To maintain the result over time, the surface should be cleaned regularly using the 1000 grit COBRA pad. This step preserves the refined appearance and prevents micro-scratching from daily traffic and soiling.

Cleaning Decking and Outdoor Wood Surfaces

COBRA pads are highly suitable for cleaning wooden decking, terraces and other exterior wood surfaces exposed to moisture, algae and weather-related contamination. Used exclusively with water, the pads provide controlled light abrasion that removes surface deposits without damaging the wood fibres. Unlike high-pressure washing or rotary brush systems, COBRA delivers a gentle resurfacing and polishing effect that preserves the integrity of the material.

This process not only eliminates algae growth but also removes raised fibres, splinters and surface roughness, restoring a smoother and more uniform wood surface. For operators using single-disc machines outdoors, COBRA offers an effective solution for seasonal maintenance and refurbishment.

In summary, COBRA offers three key advantages for decking applications:
• No chemicals required
• The surface is not roughened or structurally damaged
• Splinters and raised fibres are effectively removed

Good to Know
Although COBRA pads are designed for chemical-free operation, there are situations where a mild cleaning agent may be required—for example when breaking surface tension or performing a deeper cleaning process. In such cases, it is important to note that COBRA pads are compatible with alkaline products and other mild detergents without compromising pad performance or structural integrity.

Step 1

Cobra 120 grit

Cobra 120 grit is a highly aggressive abrasive pad designed for heavy floor renovation. It is intended for severely worn hard floors where the surface layer must be fully removed or mechanically levelled. The pad removes coatings, polish build-up and surface defects quickly, making it an effective choice for large-area restoration.

Thanks to its high cutting capacity, the operator typically requires fewer passes compared to conventional pads, which reduces working time without compromising surface preparation quality. As with any renovation process, proper pre-cleaning and surface assessment remain essential to achieving an optimal end result.

Step 2

Cobra 320 grit

Cobra 320 grit is a medium-aggressive abrasive pad and an excellent first step in the renovation process when the floor is worn but does not require heavy restoration. It removes surface coatings and polish in a controlled manner, making it suitable for refurbishment tasks where precise material removal is important.

The balanced combination of abrasive minerals and nonwoven structure ensures predictable cutting action. This allows the operator to regulate how much polish or surface material is removed, preventing both excessive abrasion and insufficient performance. The result is a stable and well-controlled renovation step that prepares the floor for finer refinement stages.

Step 3

Cobra 800 grit

Cobra 800 grit is the second to last step in the COBRA system and is used to further refine the surface before the final finishing stage. It removes light micro-scratches, evens out the surface and prepares the floor for the 1000 grit pad.

Cobra 800 grit is also an effective corrective step when a floor has been maintained with 1000 grit over an extended period. Daily traffic introduces sand, dust and abrasive particles that gradually reduce the surface quality. In these cases, a short maintenance cycle with 800 grit restores the surface texture before returning to regular 1000 grit cleaning.

Step 4

Cobra 1000 grit

Cobra 1000 grit is the final and finest step in the COBRA series. It delivers the smoothest surface finish and is the recommended pad for daily or frequent maintenance of matte hard floors. The pad refines the surface without increasing gloss levels, making it ideal for environments where a natural, non-reflective appearance is required.

For routine maintenance, the pad is typically used with water only. When deeper cleaning is necessary—such as breaking surface tension or removing embedded soil—a mild cleaning agent may be applied without affecting pad performance.

If the floor has accumulated heavy soiling or the matte finish becomes difficult to maintain, stepping back temporarily to 800 grit will restore the surface texture. After this corrective step, returning to 1000 grit re-establishes the original uniform matte appearance.

A Cobra Pad = Three KEY Components

1 - Backing Layer

A durable white nonwoven backing pad provides structural support and ensures even pressure distribution across the floor surface.

2 - Bonding Layer

A high-strength bonding medium secures the abrasive surface to the backing. After application, the layers are compressed under pressure to achieve a stable and long-lasting bond.

3 - Abrasive Surface

The coloured abrasive surface consists of approximately 8–10 mm of mineral-impregnated nonwoven fibres, depending on grit level. This layer delivers the pad’s cleaning and polishing effect and also serves as a visual wear indicator—when roughly two millimetre of the coloured surface remains, the pad should be replaced.

The COBRA system uses colour coding to ensure quick and reliable identification of each grit level:

Brown – 120 grit
Purple – 320 grit
Grey – 800 grit
Yellow – 1000 grit

The coloured abrasive surface also serves as a visual wear indicator. When approximately two millimetres of the coloured layer remains, the pad has reached the end of its effective lifespan and should be replaced to maintain consistent performance.
